Based on classic Japanese mystery fiction and inheriting the eerie, bizarre style of Edgar Allan Poe, Edogawa Rampo pioneered the "Henkaku" (unorthodox) school of detective fiction. This film adaptation brings four of his ultimate psychological romance stories to the screen. Edogawa Rampo's eccentric and extremely twisted views on love present romance as the ultimate pursuit of possessiveness, sadomasochism, death, and art. It focuses on the morbid bonds formed under physical or psychological disabilities, revealing a beautifully sweet hell that transcends life and death.

After the screening, we will share and discuss the manga adaptation by Suehiro Maruo and Rampo's original novels. Using elements such as shibari sadomasochism, disabled bodies, and mental illness from the works as entry points, we will have a deep conversation exploring the imagination and reality of crip body & mind × eroticism and desire.
(The discussion will be conducted in Cantonese, but speakers of other languages or sign language are welcome to join via text or AI translation tools.)
🥂 Welcome:
- Fans who love the exotic, cult-film style of Edogawa Rampo's works.
- Those interested in talking about crip bodies, mental health, and erotic desire.
- Anyone with thoughts on erotic art, creation, gender, and the body who wants to chat.
- Those who want to discuss the phenomenon and practice of "shibari culture ≠ shibari art."
- Curious minds who are eager to learn and understand more.
- Anyone who wants to experiment together on how to watch movies inclusively.
(During the sharing session, you are free to move around, make sounds, and use visual/hearing assistive devices. A small sensory rest space will be provided for those who need a break midway.) - Introverts (I-people) 😶🌫️ who just want to quietly watch the movie and listen to the discussion are also specially welcome.
